Wonderful pair of 19th-C. portraits by Joseph Goodhue Chandler of Jonathon and Experience (nee Shepherd) Hawks of Deerfield, MA – signed, identified, and dated 1847 on verso. These portraits have been passed down in the family and consigned by direct descendants of Jonathon and Experience. The portraits are accompanied by a sampler done by Experience Shepherd, age 10, in 1804. The framed collar and pin of Experience Hawks and a drawing of the Sheldon-Hawks House, ca. 1743, signed Clark M. Goff and dated ’89.
